Progress NC Action tested imagery alongside our messaging to find out which tone would be more persuasive.

Along with each image respondents were shown the following language:

Radical Republicans want you to think textbooks are more dangerous than bullets. Democrats want to keep our students safe and prepare them for the future.

Our results showed statistically significant movement over the control with all images, but the Outrage and Hopeful images performed the best with Outrage being slightly better among all demographics.  In this test, there was little difference between the illustration and photo graphics.
