Public schools are the heart and soul of our communities
Every child deserves a quality education. When our public schools are strong, our communities and our state is strong.
But Radical Republicans have launched a concerted effort to undermine our schools
Unfortunately, in recent years, our schools, our teachers, and even our children have been the subject of attacks by far-right partisans looking to sow discord and division. This is the end plan of a decades-long effort to underfund our public schools and undermine teachers and parents looking to provide the best for our children.
Republicans have long refused to uphold North Carolina’s constitutional mandate to provide students with the skills needed to succeed in the future. But now they are taking their efforts even further. Republican state superintendent nominee Michele Morrow and gubernatorial nominee Mark Robinson are both conspiracy theorists with a long history of offensive statements – and they plan to dismantle our public education system.
We must stop radical Republicans Mark Robinson and Michele Morrow from dragging our schools down and hurting our children’s future.
Robinson and Morrow’s Plan for Our Schools:
- Reject $1.67 billion in federal funding, a devastating blow to our schools that would impact career and technical education, special needs students, school meals, and more
- Eliminate the U.S. Department of Education
- Ban books, censor educators from teaching the truth, and weaken curriculum requirements
- Eliminate history and science curriculum from elementary schools, ensuring our children fall behind their peers in other states
- Siphon our tax dollars from public schools and put them into unaccountable private schools and handouts for millionaires
This fall, it is up to all of us. We must come together to protect our children’s futures. If Robinson and Morrow succeed, our children’s right to learn, be safe, and be prepared for life will be jeopardized. Let’s vote this fall to invest in our schools, our families, our communities.
