Seasonal Content Creator

Organization Overview 

Progress North Carolina Action (PNCA), serves as North Carolina’s progressive communications hub. We operate as a center for innovative research, data-driven messaging, training, and communication strategies for the progressive community. 

This position will be slated to work with a new and emerging organization, Rally NC. North Carolina is home to over 560,000 college students across over 100 college campuses, including 10 HBCUs. Young voters have the numbers and the power to shape the future of our state through leadership in the electoral process. And in a state like North Carolina, even a small increase in student voter turnout could shape our state for years to come.

Rally NC is an entrepreneurial and innovative operation to protect and expand democracy by elevating youth leadership across the state in order to empower thousands of college students to take control of their futures, get organized, and vote in the 2024 elections. 

This position ends on January 31st, 2025. 

Position Overview 

PNCA & Rally NC seeks a dedicated, innovative, and adaptable team player to be responsible for developing and implementing our digital strategy in order to increase Rally NC’s online presence and experiment with new and emerging platforms. 

Duties will include:

  • Collaborate with team members to implement and manage Rally NC’s digital presence
  • Interact with storytellers to create narrative shifting content 
  • Schedule and contribute to organic social media content
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
  • Collaborate with communications, research, and messaging teams to create digital content including static and video collateral
  • Monitor user engagement and suggest content optimization
  • Engage audience on social platforms

Strong candidates will have some or all of the following:

  • Be passionate, curious, and knowledgeable about progressive policies and causes
  • Demonstrate a high level of cultural competency to make sure all people’s identities and perspectives are considered.
  • Previous experience creating organic social media campaigns and content
  • Deep understanding of major social media platforms -- Twitter, Facebook, Instagram,
  • Willingness to experiment with new platforms and content
  • Experience working with broad and diverse coalitions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ideal candidates will have some or all of the following:

  • Experience in narrative shifting work
  • Experience using social media for community organizing
  • An understanding of North Carolina’s political landscape
  • Experience creating Tik Tok content and building a following

Compensation: The annual salary for this position is $55,000. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance (100% employer paid for employee; 50% employer paid for dependents) and paid time off that includes nine holidays, 10 vacation days, five personal days and six sick days per year.
