President Biden signs bipartisan infrastructure bill into law, promoting benefits for Americans.
On Monday, President Biden signed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law, a bipartisan victory that will deliver a once-in-a-generation investment into the nation’s roads, broadband, utilities and more.
In North Carolina specifically, this historic deal pours funding into our state’s roads and bridges, improves ports and airports, and ensures every North Carolinian has access to clean drinking water and high-speed internet.
- The infrastructure package also delivers funding to expand an electric vehicle charging network and improve public transit.
- “The enactment of this historic bipartisan infrastructure package is a great victory for eastern North Carolina and the American people,” said Rep. G.K. Butterfield.
- Despite the critical needs for infrastructure investments, all North Carolina GOP House members voted “no” on the legislation that would create jobs and make critical investments in North Carolina’s roads, bridges, and high-speed internet.
Through the passage of the bipartisan infrastructure deal, President Biden and North Carolina Democrats are continuing to deliver for North Carolina families — making critical investments in our state’s infrastructure, and securing a brighter future for North Carolinians across the state.
The historic legislation is a prime example of what bipartisanship can achieve — moving our country forward through compromise and consensus that sets the people’s interests first.
