Kamala Harris has dedicated her career to fighting for women, children, and their families.
As a prosecutor, she specialized in child sexual assault cases. As a District Attorney, she worked to expand resources for domestic violence survivors. As an Attorney General, she created the Bureau of Children’s Justice, and as a U.S. Senator she led efforts to address the Black maternal healthcare crisis. As Vice President, she has worked to improve elder care and lower the cost of child care.
Now she is running for president, ready to continue the leadership and progress that the Biden-Harris administration has made over the past few years. She will be a fierce defender of our rights and freedoms and together we can and will defeat Donald Trump and his radical agenda this fall.
Did you know?
- Kamala Harris is the only presidential candidate who will defend our reproductive rights. Kamala Harris knows that pregnant people deserve control over their own bodies and that the government has no place in private medical decisions. She has been the leading voice in the Biden administration on the need to restore abortion rights. She helped organize an executive action protecting abortion access and was the first Vice President to visit an abortion clinic.
- Kamala Harris has worked for decades to keep our communities safe from gun violence. As an Attorney General, Harris fought to stop illegal guns and went to court to uphold gun safety laws. As Vice President, Harris has spoken out for stronger background checks, red flag laws, and restrictions on assault rifles, and helped successfully pass the first real gun safety laws in decades.
- Kamala Harris will be a fierce defender of Social Security and Medicare. As U.S. Senator she was a strong advocate for increasing Social Security benefits and expanding Medicare to include dental, hearing, and vision services. And she helped the Biden-Harris administration successfully give Medicare the power to negotiate lower prescription drug prices, meaning big savings for seniors.
