Campaigns Director

Location: North Carolina

Organization Overview:

Progress North Carolina (PNC) and its sister organization, Progress North Carolina Action (PNCA), serve as North Carolina’s progressive communications hub. We operate as a center for innovative research, data-driven messaging, training, and communication strategies for the progressive community and its elected allies in order to shift the narrative around good governance and reshape what is possible by advocating for progressive policies, leaders and civil servants ready to serve North Carolinians.

Position Overview

PNC & PNCA seeks a dedicated and adaptable team player to serve as the Campaigns Director for PNC, PNCA, and allied organizations. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Duties will include:

  • Coordinate the Coalition Against Right-Wing Extremism (CARE), including agendizing and running bi-weekly meetings, working with key leaders to develop strategic plans, and engaging membership through consistent communication and opportunities for engagement. 
  • Work with Progress’s communications and research teams to identify opposition research for press opportunities and earned media events.
  • Work with Progress’s messaging team and creative firm to craft and execute a multi-modal research campaign with the aim of understanding the electorate's attitudes on the 2026 election. 
  • Provide consistent and compelling insights for in-state and national political reporters.
  • Work with the Community Voices Organizer to amplify well-developed storytellers to news outlets.
  • Work with Progress’s Digital Manager and creative firm to craft and execute organic digital and paid advertising campaigns. 

Strong candidates will have some or all of the following:

  • Experience in campaign management and/or project management across multiple departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be passionate, curious, and knowledgeable about progressive policies and causes.
  • Experience working with broad and diverse coalitions.

Ideal candidates will have some or all of the following:

  • An understanding of North Carolina’s political landscape. 
  • Experience working with in-state and national press.

Compensation: The annual salary for this position is $90,000. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance (100% employer paid for employee; 50% employer paid for dependents) and paid time off that includes nine holidays, 10 vacation days, five personal days and six sick days per year.
