Though there will be tough battles over a variety of issues championed by right-wing Republicans, there’s also the chance for progress to be made on some legislation that previously stalled.

Depending on the ruling, Moore v. Harper could be the beginning of the end of democracy in the United States.

Instead of being harassed, accused of trying to alter votes, threatened or intimidated, Americans should thank their local election workers for their hard work in making sure every vote is counted.

This year’s election will have massive impacts both in North Carolina and across the nation. Here in the Tar Heel State, voters will have some very important decisions to make ranging from the hyperlocal to the federal level.

North Carolina voters have a chance this fall to choose the destiny of our state – vote to get enough Democrats elected to prevent Republican supermajorities in the General Assembly or give right-wing idealogues full control.

Cases ensuring fair federal elections and affirmative action are under threat by the right-wing U.S. Supreme Court – and both of these cases originated in North Carolina before working their way up to the high court.

Democrats currently hold a 4-3 majority on the North Carolina Supreme Court, but Republicans could find themselves with a 5-2 advantage after November’s election – a chilling scenario for anyone concerned about their rights and freedoms.
